Windows Text Redaction on non-English machines

Get text redaction to work by installing the English language

Last updated: November 11, 2025

Note: ScreenKin currently uses the Truple app for Windows monitoring. While ScreenKin is developing its own dedicated apps, the Truple app provides the underlying technology for Windows devices.

The monitoring app supports text redaction on Windows 10 devices, however it requires that the English language is installed on your computer. You can still use another language as your default--English simply needs to be installed.

Installing English Language

  1. Click the Start Button
  2. Type in Settings then select it
  3. Click Time & language
  4. Click Language from the left menu
  5. Click Add a language
  6. Select English (United States)
  7. Click Next
  8. Click Install
  9. Restart your computer. The monitoring app's text redaction should now redact Latin-1 characters.
