How to setup ScreenKin parental monitoring on Windows

Last updated: November 11, 2025

Note: ScreenKin currently uses the Truple app for Windows monitoring. While ScreenKin is developing its own dedicated apps, the Truple app provides the underlying technology for Windows devices. Follow the steps below to set up monitoring on your child's Windows computer.

Instructions

  1. Install the Truple app. For Windows 10+ devices, install from https://windows.truple.io/prod/truple.installer.v2.exe. For Windows 7, 8 install from https://windows.truple.io/truple.installer.v2.windows8.exe.
  2. Open the Truple app
  3. Click Get Started
  4. Login with your ScreenKin parent account*
  5. Answer the questions
  6. (Optional) The parent can adjust the device's settings (image blurring, screenshot frequency, etc) from the ScreenKin parent dashboard

* If you are setting up your child's Windows computer remotely (the device is not physically present with you), you should not share your ScreenKin credentials with your child. Instead, have them follow the instructions for adding a device to your account, which will allow them to request access without needing your login credentials.

Windows 7 Notes

Windows 7 users need to have .Net Framework 4.5 or above installed in order for the monitoring app to run properly. Visit Microsoft's download page to do so. This is not necessary for Windows 8-10.
